We work closely with our global men's health partners to ensure collaboration, transparency and accountability for every project we fund. We monitor this through report cards which detail what we seek to achieve, key measures and the impact.
Prostate Cancer
"Together with the brightest minds in research, we aim to achieve significant breakthroughs in the hope of beating prostate cancer. Our disruptive funding approach identifies revolutionary ways to accelerate health outcomes by creating strong, global collaborative teams." Dr. Colleen Nelson, Global Scientific Chair.
Men's Health
"One Mo can help change the face of men’s health through the powerful conversations created globally during Movember. Men have the chance to confidently discuss men’s health with people around them, resulting in men taking action early, helping change and save lives." Paul Villanti, Executive Director, Programmes
Mental health and suicide prevention
“The number of men taking their own lives around the world is one of the biggest challenges of our time. Movember is working to ensure all men and boys look after their mental health and are comfortable to seek help when they’re struggling.”
Brendan Maher, Global Director, Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.
Testicular Cancer
“Despite being the 2nd most common cancer in young men, testicular cancer is often a forgotten cancer due to early detection and treatment. Our projects look at underinvested areas such as improving access to healthcare services and treatment options for relapse” Paul Villanti, Executive Director, Programmes.

What we seek to achieve

Our ambition is for Indigenous leaders and communities to achieve sustainable change within their communities at individual, structural and systemic levels. We will need to drive change which is underpinned by robust data and sound evidence and which becomes embedded in government funding and practice. This will require us to work collaboratively within state, provincial & territorial divides, and across structural divides within correctional services, and across networks of global Indigenous communities.

About the project

In line with our strategy to go to where boys and men are, we have identified settings of great need across our sites of practice. In order for the work to be effective and sustainable, we will leverage our connections to identify best practice wherever it exists, and understand how to influence and embed change effectively.

All work-streams will depend on us engaging with communities at every level, so that the programs we support become integral to the way Indigenous men's health is prioritized and funded in our key markets, and we have the insight and credibility needed to drive reform.

We will tackle these changes through scaling a series of interventions grouped into three work-streams:

  1.  Land-based programs: strengthening the evidence base of land-based programming for Indigenous communities through adapting and scaling approaches and projects in identified rural and remote settings;
  2. Correctional services and rehabilitation: using our expertise in engagement and connections across academia, indigenous health settings and business to promote strengths-based reconciliation programs within prisons;
  3. Social connections programs: support the growth and establishment of local self-governing groups building on evidence-based models that promote improved mental health and well being.
Programs are currently funded and underway in Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
