My motivation

This year, I've decided to ramp up my efforts to support Movember raise funds and spread the good word, so I'll be starting my campaigning from today.

For starters, I've set myself a challenge: complete the Maasroute in 3 days.

The Maasroute is a cycling route that follows the river Maas from the moment it enters the country, near Maastricht all the way to the sea, approximately 480km of bike paths and roads.

That'll be an average of 160km/day, so each day will be longer than my longest ride to date, in the midst of the Dutch Autumn, the last weekend of October.

This challenge feels very personal as:
It will take me from where I was born (almost) to where I live now.
I'll be completing it just a few days before I turn 40 too, which is a bit of landmark in terms of age.
And, finally, I'll be doing on my bike because: a) I love cycling and b) Bikes are an amazing way to stay active and a great tool to support the environment.
