Mijn naam is Ferdi Hek, 37 jaar en in het dagelijks leven werkzaam als fysiotherapeut en manuele therapeut. Dit jaar heb ik opnieuw de grote eer om als enige persoon van Nederland Movember te vertegenwoordigen als Community Ambassador. Daarnaast ga ik ook in 2023 weer acties op touw zetten, met als grote klapper op 30 november 2023 het eigen radiostation Radio4Movember lanceren!

De afgelopen jaren heeft de strijd tegen kanker en mentale gezondheidsproblemen een behoorlijke achterstand opgelopen. Movember is een toonaangevende liefdadigheidsinstelling die zich inzet op het gebied van prostaatkanker, teelbalkanker, mentale gezondheid en de preventie van zelfmoord.

Vanwege die reden ben ik in 2021 de #MovemberChallenge gestart, om zo op een originele wijze de aandacht te trekken voor deze kwesties. Mijn dagelijkse beroep staat in het teken van klaarstaan voor anderen en het is altijd mijn droom geweest om dat ook via een eigen creatie te doen. Met de #MovemberChallenge heb ik die droom uit laten komen en hoop ik dat nog lang te blijven doen!
